I spent 19+ years in the semiconductor industry as an electrical engineer. In this industry, I was known for having a good eye for detail, being very thorough, meticulous and somewhat of a perfectionist. The good news is the home inspection industry needs these skills.

I have been working on houses for as long as I can remember. I helped my Dad build a house when I was 12 from the ground up (back when Lowe’s sold home packages). We always lived in older homes that needed lots of work while growing up. Since getting out on my own, I have owned both fixer uppers and brand new homes, so have seen both sides of the coin. I am a DIY kinda guy, so I spend lots of time in Home Depot, Lowe’s, plumbing suppliers, lumber suppliers, AC suppliers etc. I have done just about anything you can think of to a home (complete upgrade from a 2-wire to 3-wire electrical service, re-plumbing, complete kitchen updates, tiling, installing water heaters, refinishing wood floors, ductwork, installing faucets, sinks, cabinets, doors, windows, blowing in insulation, roofing, etc.). I have spent more time in attics, under sinks, and in crawlspaces than I can remember.

On every one of these projects, I did the research to make sure I did it right the first time (I strongly dislike re-doing any work). I got to know plenty about the inner workings of homes along the way. It also seems like I always found yet one more thing to fix while working on any project. All homes, regardless of being older or new builds, require the same maintenance to keep them in good shape. Some just need a little more TLC than others.

I have always used a home inspector when purchasing a home and started realized that this was the right line of work for me to utilize my skills. Plus it is something that I enjoy doing and I look forward to going to work every day.
